Homeless Program
The Prince Home : Reimagined Prince Home Concept
Since 2007, the Prince Home has offered housing and supportive services to as many as 12 homeless veterans in Illinois. Besides providing a safe and secure living environment, the program has helped veterans foster personal growth and independence.
As part of Illinois’ continued investment in veterans, IDVA has temporarily closed the Prince Home to reimagine it (and the campus) as the Nation's preeminent center for assisting unhoused women veterans. New residents will not be accepted during this renovation. Expected first phase to reopen in early 2026
IDVA will continue to work with community service providers, private organizations, and other state agencies on state and federal veteran programs to end veteran homelessness across the state.
