Gold Star Families

The Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs joins in supporting our nation’s Gold Star Families to provide honor, hope and healing to those grieving any military loss through active-duty service in the United States Armed Forces. Throughout the year, we offer events, programs, and ceremonies to honor the 333 (as of 4/23) Illinois heroes and their families. These events include Veterans and Gold Star Families Days at the Springfield and DuQuoin State Fairs, Gold Star Families Weekend, and the Gold Star Christmas Tree Lighting. Please visit this website to learn more about these programs as they are announced.

We also are here to connect you with resources and information on benefits designed for Gold Star Families.
